Bio

Bayard Hollingsworth is a Managing Director at Phoenix IB® with more than 20 years of experience managing and advising clients on complex transactions and situations. His breadth of expertise within investment banking spans mergers and acquisitions, recapitalization, refinancing, balance sheet restructuring, expansion/growth financing, and divestitures.

Bayard deploys a hands-on approach, creatively delivering successful results to companies across a broad spectrum of sizes and sectors. His professional background has been focused on advising closely held, private, sponsored, and family-owned entities ranging from $50 million to $2 billion in revenue.

Bayard’s expertise and knowledge spans a wide range of industries including technology, consulting, manufacturing, distribution, agribusiness, transportation, food and beverage, business services, and consumer products. Throughout his professional career, Bayard has led and closed dozens of debt and equity financings ranging from $2 million to more than $500 million including cash flow structures, ABL structures, equipment loans and leases, and real estate transactions.

Life Before Phoenix

Prior to joining Phoenix IB, Bayard led the Southeast Region for Triton Capital Partners, Ltd, a Chicago-based advisory and investment banking firm. Before Triton Capital Partners, Ltd, Bayard founded a turnaround and crisis management consulting practice at a super-regional public accounting firm in Atlanta.

Education & Affiliations

Bayard earned his B.A. from University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1987 and his Master of Business Administration from Erasmus University in Rotterdam, The Netherlands. He served as a board member of the Atlanta Chapter of the Turnaround Management Association for seven years. Bayard is registered with FINRA and holds his Series 79 license.

Financial Advisor, Plumbing Products Distributor: Completed a $7.5 million refinancing of the Company’s senior secured, asset-based revolving credit facility.

Chief Financial Officer, Executive Services / Financial Consulting Company: Completed new $15.0 million asset-based financing including revolving credit facility and term loan and a $20 million refinancing to accommodate growth, including a $10 million private placement of equity.

Chief Financial Officer, Hard and Soft Surface Flooring Company: Completed numerous acquisitions of complementary, adjacent, and upstream companies and related refinancing of the Company’s senior and term debt and established a new capex facility, including a $525 million asset-based loan package.

Chief Financial Officer, Hard Surface Flooring Company: Completed the acquisition of a $15 million revenue competitor and related asset-based financing package.
